What to Expect
Practical Information
Meditation Room
Kailash IRC has meditation mats and cushions as well as chairs so you can choose to sit where you are most comfortable. Please note that we have limited cushions so if you require the use of more than one, please bring your own.
Session Breaks
During the breaks you will have plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery that surrounds the Centre. There are many walks, short or long, or you can relax on our sun terrace enjoying the spectacular views. There is also a library of dharma books in different languages for people to use during the breaks.
Volunteering
Kailash IRC is a volunteer-run charity and we encourage retreaters to help with small jobs during their stay. Volunteering is a fun way to connect with fellow retreaters and help ensure the smooth running of events. Jobs might include chopping vegetables, washing dishes, helping in the meditation room etc, as well as clearing up and leaving the Centre tidy when you leave.
Accommodation + Facilities
We have single, double, triple and quadruple rooms. Bed linens and pillows are provided. Each room has a sink and there are shared bathrooms on each floor. There is a public computer with internet access in the shop (Fee CHF 2.50- per 30 minutes).
Meals + Kitchen use
Healthy, homemade meals will be served each day. All meals are either vegetarian or vegan. Please indicate in advance if you require a vegan diet. We are sorry but we are unable to provide any other special diets at the moment. Also, it is not possible for individuals to use the kitchen for private cooking or storing food as we have limited facilities.

Other useful information
There is no WIFI access and no public phone at Kailash IRC, so please bring your own phone with mobile data if needed.
There is no cash machine in the village, so please bring enough cash (Swiss Francs = CHF) for the duration of your stay at Kailash IRC. Most businesses including the local shop accept card payment.
There is no local doctor or pharmacy in Törbel, so make sure to bring enough (prescribed) medicine for the duration of your stay at Kailash IRC.
Please do not consume meat, fish, alcohol, cigarettes or drugs of any kind at Kailash. Thank you for your understanding.
