Love and Compassion

Weekend Retreat with guest teacher Gen Kelsang Dema from KMC Basel

This retreat will include teachings on compassion from „Mirror of Dharma with Additions“ and meditations on Taking and Giving. We will learn to meditate correctly on love and compassion, so that we can gradually overcome our pervasive self-cherishing attitude and realise spontaneous bodhichitta and enlighement.

Everyone is welcome!

Please note that each retreater will help with a merit job in order to ensure the smooth running of the retreat. Thank you.

“Meditation is a scientific method to transform human nature from bad to good. Everybody needs to be good-natured with a good heart. This is the real method to solve our own inner problems – problems of ignorance, depression, anger and so forth – and is also the real method to benefit others practically.”
— Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

teacher

Gen Kelsang Dema is the resident teacher of the Kadampa Meditation Center Basel.

She is a modern Buddhist nun and a very experienced teacher of the New Kadampa Tradition who has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 25 years under the guidance of venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

Because of her experience, Gen Dema’s teachings are powerful, clear and profound. It is her greatest joy to accompany others on the inner path to happiness and freedom. It is her greatest wish that everyone learns to lead themselves to their own source of joy and bliss. It’s really easy to find inner peace and always be happy.

We simply have to follow the teachings that Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche has made available to us out of his great kindness – to the people of this busy and modern world – and we will see that our lives change for the better.“
