weekend retreat
Steps to Happiness
Weekend Retreat with guest teacher Kelsang Ani from KMC Nalanda, Luzern
Everyone, whether religious or non-religious, seeks happiness all the time and wants to be permanently free from problems and suffering. We can fulfil these wishes by understanding and implementing Buddha’s advice.
The retreat is based on the book Eight Steps to Happiness by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. It is a commentary on the Eight Verses of Mind Training by the great Bodhisattva Langri Tangpa.
We will learn how to use this timeless wisdom, which has inspired generations of Buddhist practitioners for almost a thousand years, to find meaning and lasting happiness in our hectic modern lives.
During this retreat there will be silence until lunch. Afterwards, everyone has the choice to remain in silence or to socialise with the other retreat participants.
In the afternoon, there will be the opportunity to go for walks and guided meditation in nature.
Suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners.
Silence
During the retreat there is silence on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning. The library and Meditation Room are silent rooms for the whole time.
Please note that each retreater will help with a merit job in order to ensure the smooth running of the retreat. Thank you.
