Swiss Dharma Celebration 2025

Heal your Mind – Heal your World

Special Event

Medicine Buddha Empowerment with Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang

The Festival is now available via Live-Stream. The event is translated live and streamed in all four languages – German, French and Italian. We use Zoom for live-streaming and will give you respective instructions about 72 hours before.

The Swiss Dharma Celebration is a gathering of the various Buddhist Centres and practitioners in Switzerland. It is a spiritual and joyful holiday over Easter. This is a unique opportunity to receive the empowerment of Medicine Buddha.

Medicine Buddha is the embodiment of the healing power of all enlightened beings. His function is to liberate living beings from outer and inner sickness. By relying upon Medicine Buddha, we can cure otherwise incurable physical disease and mental pain, as well as all other outer and inner diseases. An empowerment is a special guided meditation through which we receive powerful inspiration.

On this national celebration, Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang will grant the blessing empowerment of Medicine Buddha and transmission of the mantra, followed by teachings on how to integrate this practice into our daily lives.

What is an empowerment and what to expect?
An empowerment is a beautiful Buddhist ceremony involving a special guided meditation through which we establish a heart connection with a Buddha and are authorized to engage in the meditation practice associated with that Buddha.

The celebration begins with an introduction, followed by the empowerment and teachings on the healing actions about Medicine Buddha. Additionally, morning meditations are offered, along with evening chanted prayers (Pujas) and a short retreat to conclude the celebration.

Throughout the event, there are numerous opportunities for interaction with other participants, walks, and the chance to enjoy coffee and cake. Everything takes place in a happy and peaceful atmosphere.

Kailash International Retreat Centre is the venue where the Dharma Celebration is held. This place is located high up in the picturesque mountain village of Törbel in Valais. An oasis of relaxation, an ideal place to be spiritually inspired and enjoy meaningful connections with others.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of previous experience. The celebration will be held in English with German, French and Italian translation.

“Every living being has the potential to become a Buddha, someone who has completely purified his or her mind of all faults and limitations and has brought all good qualities to perfection. Our mind is like a cloudy sky, in essence clear and pure but overcast by the clouds of delusions. Just as the thickest clouds eventually disperse, so too even the heaviest delusions can be removed from our mind. Delusions such as hatred, greed and ignorance are not an intrinsic part of the mind. If we apply the appropriate methods they can be completely eliminated, and we will experience the supreme happiness of full enlightenment.”
