study programmes
Our founder, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, has designed three study programmes of Buddhist teachings. These programmes form the very core of the New Kadampa Tradition and consist of the General Programme, Foundation Programme, and Teacher Training Programme. Emphasis is placed on how to integrate Buddha’s teachings into daily life in order to solve our human problems and spread lasting peace and happiness throughout the world.
Three Levels of Study >>
General Programme (GP)
The General Programme consists of drop-in classes for all levels of experience. These classes introduce meditation, basic Buddhist view, and other practices that are suitable for beginners. They also include advanced teachings and the practices of Sutra and Tantra for practitioners at all levels of experience.
We offer a weekly GP class in Brig. Click here for details.
Foundation Programme (FP)
For those wishing to take the next step in their study of Buddhism and meditation, FP classes provide a systematic presentation of particular aspects of Mahayana Buddhism. The program aims to enable practitioners to deepen their knowledge and experience of Buddhism.
Our Principal Teacher, Gen Kelsang Devi, teaches the FP class in Zurich. We also offer correspondence for those who do not live close by. Click here for details.
Teacher Training Programme (TTP)
TTP classes enable practitioners to deepen their knowledge and experience of Mahayana Buddhism, and to train as qualified New Kadampa Tradition Teachers. The program examines twelve subjects based on Buddha’s Sutra and Tantra teachings.
